NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) sensor, also known as negative temperature coefficient thermistor, is a semiconductor temperature sensitive component whose resistance decreases exponentially with increasing temperature.
Features:
1. High sensitivity: The temperature coefficient is about -2%~-6%/℃, much higher than that of platinum resistors (Pt100 is about 0.385%/℃), and can detect small temperature changes of * * 0.1 ℃ * *.
2. Fast response speed: Small thermal capacity, response time can reach milliseconds to seconds.
3. High accuracy: The conventional accuracy is ± 0.5 ℃~± 1 ℃, and the high-precision model can reach * * ± 0.1 ℃ * *.
4. Compact size: available in patch type (0402/0603 package) and micro lead type, suitable for space constrained scenarios.
5. Low cost: simple structure, high cost-effectiveness, suitable for large-scale applications.
6. Good stability: under proper packaging (epoxy, glass), the long-term drift is small and the aging resistance is good.
7. Nonlinear: The resistance temperature relationship is exponential and needs to be linearized using a table or Steinhart Hart equation.
Applications:
1. Consumer electronics
Mobile phone/laptop: Monitor battery and CPU temperature, overheat protection, temperature control and frequency reduction.
Home appliances: temperature detection and control of air conditioners (indoor/pipe temperature), refrigerators, rice cookers, and electric water heaters.
